Welcome to Green Planet 3. It is our hope to provide you with accurate information and forums for alternative energy, recycling and other things "green". The approach will be to use items that the average person can do. We will not be going into the lunatic fringe area with extreme measures. An examples of what the average person can consider doing on our most extreme edge is to drive an electric car

Some of the most active non-professional people in this field can and do let their politics get in the way. A couple of years ago, we had driven many hours to see a seminar put on by a widely-known author and speaker, who has many years of practical knowledge of applying Alternative Energy to day-to-day life.
Imagine our surprise (and distress!) when he cut the seminar short, stopping just as he was reaching the answers we were looking for, to implore his listeners to attend a speech which was scheduled to overlap the last half of said seminar... by a political activist who has little to do with Alternative Energy!
And it wasn't just this one speaker. A large segment of the space at this event was taken up, not by vendors, but with people pushing one political agenda or another. It was, in a word, NUTS.
This site will strive to avoid that. The politics of the owners of this site, as evidenced by this page, are not those of the rabid "humans are bad for the environment" crowd, nor are they of the "burn it all, we don't care" crowd. We are definitely not the "cram-it-down-your-throat-eco-freak" type. We feel politics should NOT interfere with getting the message out about ways to conserve energy, and finding alternative forms of energy that work IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE.
We do, however, feel that there are things that everyone can do that only amount to a change in habit
So, sit back, have a sip of your favorite beverage, and look around. Sure, we're going to point you at some sites that WILL have political agendas, but it will be because they also have good information. And we'll try to help you benefit from our trials and tribulations, of sorting out the practical from the "you HAVE to be KIDDING, right?"
